About Me and my Motivation

Penguins Deserve Better was brought to life after I personally witnessed unacceptable conditions at an aquarium: small, inadequate enclosures, dirty environments, and animals showing clear signs of distress, such as repetitive behaviors and ticks. This troubling experience was a turning point for me. Penguins, animals that have the unique privilege of utilizing literally a whole continent in the wild, were confined to tiny spaces, deprived of their natural behaviors.

Upon realizing that my entry fee had fostered these poor conditions, I spontaneously decided to donate double the entry amount to a local animal protection organization. But it felt like a small gesture in the grand scheme of things. I found myself feeling unsure and powerless, like just another "brick in the wall" in a system much bigger than myself, wishing I could have done more.

I did not know how to help or where to even start. Eventually, I had the idea that raising awareness could make a bigger impact -perhaps even activate some other "brick". After sharing the idea of setting up a donation-web-page with a dear friend whose grounded judgement I trust, I felt confident enough to move forward. I realized that even small actions can spark change, and so the project began to take shape.

This website is an outcome of that effort. Here, you will find information on how to donate to conservation projects, general animal welfare causes, and organizations that actively combat poor living conditions for animals. You are also encouraged to share trusted organizations and links that may help spread awareness and improve animal welfare.

One important note: This site will not display graphic images of animal suffering unless they are thoroughly verified, as I cannot review all cases. My aim is to focus on supporting the welfare and protection of animals through constructive action and education, rather than shock tactics.

Together, we can help ensure that all animals, whether they span continents or are confined to small spaces, live lives free from suffering.
